May In Pictures

Well, the month started off with snow.....

And rained ALL MONTH LONG!!

Other highlights:

The Mother's Day Breakfast

Look at those handsome men!!

How adorable is Brandon in his new (used) clothes from his aunt?!?

Brandon has figured out how to put his Lego Star Wars Landspeeder together ALL BY HIMSELF!

This is as far as he got before simply playing with it and then destroying it again!  That's the beauty of Legos...you can just put them back together again.

Are You Kidding Me?!!!!

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!

I went to add a post to my Star Wars Saturday sub-page on my blog, and all of my video clips have magically disappeared, and all the alignments from each post are completely screwed up.

I can't find information about what happened, does anybody out there know?

Let The Countdown Begin

Weight Loss Challenge

I'm very excited for Friday to come because I get to go shopping for healthy food!  I've been spending time on the Weight Watchers website getting different ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and dessert, and I can't wait to try them.  My grocery list is prepared, my mind is ready, it's time to do this.

As always, if any of you have healthy food ideas, I would love to hear about them!

A Day To Remember The Fallen

To begin my post, a beautiful song about fallen soldiers.  "Heaven Was Needing A Hero" by Jo Dee Messina.

I have family in the military.  So far, we've been blessed to not loose any family while they were in action.

My uncle has been a marine since he was 18.

My cousin's husband (my cousin-in-law) is currently serving our country in Afghanistan

My other cousin (her older brother) is in the army with his family and stationed in Japan

This day has taken on a new meaning for me this year. The past month I've been teaching at the American Preparatory Academy and Friday they had their first Memorial Day assembly.

The 1st - 5th graders all learned the song, "Thank You, Soldiers" by Michael and Angela Souders. When they performed it at the end of the assembly, there were no dry eyes in the gym.  It was the most beautiful thing, and it really started me thinking about all that our military does for us.

On a personal note, I want to not only thank my family who are in the military, but their families who all sacrifice so much.  Thank you for defending our country so that my family can continue to enjoy freedom.  I love you!

And for all the other people serving our country, this song puts my feelings of thankfulness into words better than I could ever say it myself.

Star Wars Saturday

I've always been a fan of vanity plates, even though I've never had one.  There should be no question in anybody's mind that when the day comes that I do get a vanity plate, it will have something to do with Star Wars.  I currently have a license plate frame that says,

Star Wars
May The Force Be With You

Yesterday while I was driving home from work, I saw the most brilliant vanity plate:  OB1KNOB

That says, "Obi-Wan Kenobi" for anyone who doesn't speak Star Wars!  I saw this and was so bummed that I didn't think of it first!  It also got me to thinking:  what would my vanity plate say?  I have to register my car in July, and finally get Utah plates, what better time to get one than then?

So, off I went to the internet to look for examples.  And oh boy, did I find them!  Here are some of the Star Wars vanity plates I found from the website Coolpl8z.com

"May Da Force Be With You"

"Jedi Knight"

"Master Yoda"

"Nerf Herder"

Princess Leia calls Han Solo a "stuck up, half wit, scruffy looking nerfherder"

Of those choices, I really like "Jedi Mom".  My love of Star Wars isn't going to change, I'm a mom, and Brandon loves Star Wars too!

Which of these do you like?  Have any other suggestions for me?
