Star Wars Saturday

I hate how the prequels have screwed up certain elements of the original trilogy.  One MAJOR issue that arises due to the changes is Leia's memory of her mother......her REAL mother.  Once again, the writers from 78 Reasons To Hate Star Wars Episode 1 have said it better than I ever could.  (I apologize for the red "copyright" sign in the middle of the screen.  It's the copyright for the software.  I created this clip myself, and have no idea how to get rid of it!)

Leia's Award-Winning Memory

One of the most obvious questions that comes up regarding the prequels and how they relate to the original movies is Leia's memory of her mother.  In Return of the Jedi, Leia tells Luke that she only remembers images of her mother, that she was "very beautiful, but sad."  The major question is this: how does Leia remember her mother if she was only alive together with her mother for a total of one minute?  The answer to this may be: "Well, Leia is talking about her adoptive mother, so there!"  The answer to that is, of course, that Luke says, "Tell me about your mother, your real mother."

Another shoddy apologist answer would be: "Well, Leia was an exceptional baby and because of the Force she remembered her mother."  This is an even worse explanation, seeing that Luke was there at the time and was actually born first.  Being born even a mere twenty seconds earlier than Leia means that he spent a considerable percentage more of his life with his mother than Leia did.

At this point, we can only assume that Princess Leia is just really, really stupid and is actually referring to photographs of her mother that Bail Organa showed her while they cruised around in his Ford convertible.

Once again, thanks George Lucas for screwing up perfection when you made the "special editions" of episodes 4 - 6, and for just about killing the franchise when you made episodes 1 - 3.

YouTube Friday.....Take 2

Photobucket

For the longest time I've wondered how people make videos on YouTube.  So this week I decided to figure out how to do it.

I found a free video software program that had potential until I tried to upload music from itunes.  Because the software sucks, it can't read the music from my computer, and can't add the music.  That wasn't going to work for me, so I was off to find something else.

Then I found another free software program that would upload my music, but there was no way to save what I was working on, and the preview option wasn't working.  So, unless I was ready to spend hours in front of the computer, hoping that it wouldn't freeze in the process, and not be able to watch the video I'd made, this wasn't going to work either.  I was off to find another.

Then I landed on some software that looked like it was going to work.  It's free during it's 30 day trial, but it is wonderful!  I can add the music, preview what I'm doing, it's great.

I uploaded this to YouTube and Facebook yesterday, but here it is for all my blogger fans.  My first video, about my son, Brandon.  Hope you enjoy it.

Week Two

Weight Loss Challenge

Saturday & Sunday

I start week two a little bummed out because I'm maintaining my weight, which is good, but haven't lost any weight since Thursday.  I'm thrilled that I haven't gained though!

Monday

Yippie skippie!  Got on the scale today and lost another 0.8 pounds!  5.2 total lost!  I did level one of a Jillian Michaels DVD today and worked muscles that I forgot I had.  This will be the routine I do to help me widdle away my waistline!  And hey, Brandon is enjoying using my weights when I'm not using them, so that's cute!

Tuesday

I was right.....Jillian kicked my butt!  I woke up this morning SO VERY SORE!  I think I'll take a break today and clean the house!  I'll give my body a day to recover and then back to Jillian tomorrow.  Weight stayed the same, so I'm happy.

THE REST OF THE WEEK:

This was a rough week!  After a day of recovering from Jillian's "take down", I continued exercising, but the scale wasn't moving!  Trying not to get discouraged, I kept eating right.

The scale FINALLY moved this morning!  My total weight loss for this week:  1.6 pounds.

2 week total:  6 pounds even

Here's to hoping the scale moves faster next week!

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is not only the worst Indiana Jones film, but it is slowly working it's way up the "worst movie" list.  We all know what three movies are ahead of this one on that list.  Funny, all four movies were written by the same man.  Hmmm, interesting.

How It Should Have Ended is a HILARIOUS website that spoofs popular movies and changes the endings to make them better (well, most of the time).

For your viewing pleasure today, HISHE.....Kingdom of The Crystal Skull

Trapped, Unless Out By 9am

I opened my front door this afternoon to find a notice that says:

"The breezeway in your building is scheduled to be painted on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.  Please be cautious of this and remove all items by your front door, and do not walk across the breezeway from 9am - 4pm as the paint will be wet"

I wasn't exactly sure what the "breezeway" was, so I called down to the office and was told that it's the front part of our apartment, by the door.  I wanted to clarify something, so I asked why we couldn't walk outside our apartment.  They aren't painting the ground, are they?

They are.  So, we're either out of the apartment by 9am tomorrow, or we're trapped inside it until the paint dries!  The lady I was talking to actually said this to me!

I took something to the mailbox and discovered that they have been busy preparing for tomorrow's painting fiasco.  Our doormat was soaking wet, as there is someone spraying down the "breezeway" to the apartments.  I wouldn't have swept my doorway this morning if I'd known someone was going to do it for me!

From our front door, looking out at the "breezeway".  Yes, that's cement that they're going to paint.  Why?  Oh, just to be stupid, waste money, and cause trouble for tenants!

Soaked doormat

The man and machine causing the trouble today

Now I have to decide what I'll be doing tomorrow. I have errands that I need to run, but they won't take 7 HOURS to complete!  I suppose Brandon and I can go hang out with my sister and niece and nephews tomorrow, but then I loose my precious exercise time.

We could attempt to stay home, and just have one massive inside play day.  Games, music, dancing (Brandon LOVES to dance), movies.  I have no idea what we'll do.  Guess I'd better figure it out quickly.

I can't wait to get out of this apartment complex this fall!  I am so tired of living in apartment environments, I'm ready to scream
