30 Days of TV: Day 22

Favorite Series Finale

I love it when the final scene of a series is filled with the actual emotions from the actors of the show.  It usually makes for great TV, and lots of tears!

Golden Girls is a TV show that I have loved ALL OF MY LIFE.  Back when I had cable I never missed a rerun on the Lifetime TV channel.  Golden Girls had the kind of series ending that I love.  I laughed, I cried....I still cry when I see it today!!

Watching the final scene of Friends was difficult because you weren't sure if the actors were going to be able to make it through the scene.  You could see them holding back the tears, even through the final jokes.  Click here for the final clip of Friends.

Oddly enough, both of these shows went on to have spin off shows that were awful, but at least the originals went out in style!

30 Days of TV: Day 21

Favorite  TV Relationship

I decided not to look at this from a romantic standpoint, but instead, to look at the fabulous friendships that have been created on some of my favorite shows.  Call them the Dynamic Duo, or the Wonder Twins, these relationships are so much fun to watch!


Shawn and Gus:  Psych

Best friends since childhood, these two do everything together.  From making 1980's movie references, quoting songs front that same decade, or helping the Santa Barbara Police Department fight "bad guys", they are always side by side.  And they are HILARIOUS!

Tony and McGee:  NCIS

McGee is constantly hounded by Dinozzo.  "Probie" is always the butt of Dinozzo's jokes, often called names by Tony (see list below), but in the end he often gets the upper hand over Tony.  These two remind me of The Odd Couple, and it brings comedy to a show that is usually focused on serious subjects.  Tony and McGee are AMAZING!

Sherlock and John:  Sherlock

A man returning from war, and another man in desperate need of someone to listen to him, "Johnlock" are probably the only two people who could handle each other, without killing each other!  Sherlock is the Ying to John's Yang, and even though Sherlock isn't always the nicest person in the world, John recognizes that Sherlock needs a friend.  They are FABULOUS to watch!

30 Days of TV: Day 20

Favorite Kiss

After almost 2 seasons of physical attraction and tension between Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn, Alias fans finally got to see what we had been waiting for; their first kiss.  During an episode where they are raiding SD-6, (the people Sydney worked for because she thought they were the good guys but were really the bad guys), the CIA goes in guns blazing to take them all down.

Once the chaos is over, the magical moment happened.  I think it's also funny because Weiss comes over to talk to them, but they don't care about what is going on around them.  All they want to do is kiss!

30 Days of TV: Day 19

A Show That Will ALWAYS Make You Laugh

Whose Line Is It Anyway? has always been one of my favorite shows.  Never short of laughs, the cast worked flawlessly together to make the audience enjoy themselves.  Unfortunately, this show isn't available on DVD, so when I need my fix, I go to YouTube.

Here are some of my favorites.  I hope you laugh!

If you've ever watched this show, you know that Colin is often made fun of for being bald.  He also isn't the most physically active member of the cast.  That's what makes this clip so fun.





Oh Drew, read the cards BEFORE you call on the member of the audience!  Watching Wayne try to get through this is hilarious!





When they mess up and it makes it to air, magic is born.





This game is harder than it looks.  And when Drew messes up, he messes up big!





Ryan's character in this skit is perfect; and watching what happens to him is priceless!





The cast members have problems, but sometimes even the musicians make for great television!





The first verse of this hoedown is all I needed!

30 Days of TV: Day 18

My Favorite Title Sequence

Sometimes the most fun part of a TV show comes within the first 2 minutes.  Title sequences can be so much fun!  Today I'm going to focus on just a few of my favorites.

I loved how each year the title sequence of this show drastically changed.  It went from really boring the first year, to using these catchy songs with everyone dancing.  My favorite season was 6, and here's the clip from it.

"I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth........"

This song has been going through my head for weeks now as we've watched Psych.  The fun part about this opening sequence is that they would change how it sounded, depending on the theme of the episode.  There was a Christmas version, a Hindi version, Boyz 2 Men sang an acapella version, and they were all fun.  Below is a clip of all versions from 7 seasons.

How could I not use this one?  I actually had to create this using my phone; I don't have the technical skills and know-how to figure out the cool way people create videos.  I enjoy this sequence because a lot of stuff blows up, and they capture each character very well with the one phrase they each say.

This song was so popular when the show first started that the cast was in the video for it.  It became this catchy song that everyone was singing.  I always loved the clips they would show of each character.
